Buying & payment

How does checkout work?

Payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record — legally the seller on your invoice. Cards and popular local methods are supported and checkout is fully hosted on their secure page.

What payment methods can I use?

Major credit and debit cards and, depending on your country, methods like PayPal. The checkout shows exactly what is available to you.

Is VAT included? I need to buy as a company

Lemon Squeezy calculates and handles VAT automatically for your country. You can add your company details and VAT ID at checkout, or later from your receipt. The invoice then shows both.

What currency will I be charged in?

Prices are listed in USD. Checkout shows the equivalent in your currency, and your bank statement shows the converted amount.

Is this a subscription? Will I be charged again?

No. Every product is a one-time purchase — no renewals, no recurring charges. You own the software and your key does not expire.

Can I try before buying?

Yes — every product page has a live demo with sample data you can click through freely. That is the intended way to evaluate before purchase.

Orders & receipts

Where is my order?

Delivery is instant: your download and license key appear on the confirmation screen the moment payment completes, and a copy is emailed to you straight away — check spam for "ownware.io" if you do not see it. Lemon Squeezy separately emails a payment receipt. Still stuck? Contact us with your order reference and we will re-send your delivery.

I need an invoice / VAT receipt

Lemon Squeezy issues a VAT receipt automatically. Open the link in your receipt email to add company details and VAT ID — it regenerates the invoice.

I typed the wrong email at checkout

Contact us (see "Contact" below) with the order reference from your card statement and the correct address. We will re-route your delivery.

Who exactly is the seller on my statement?

Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record) — that is the name on your card statement and invoice. This store operates the catalog; full details are on the Legal page in the footer.

Downloads & re-access

I lost my download or license key

There are two permanent routes. Your Lemon Squeezy receipt email has a "Download your files" button that always works. Or use "Your purchases" on every page: the buyer portal emails you a sign-in link, no password needed.

Do I get updates?

Yes, with no renewal fee, in either of two ways. Since Own It 4.0, the app's Updates page installs a new release when you press Check for updates, with the release's signature checked and a backup taken first. Or do it by hand as before: download the current build any time from your order page or the buyer portal and replace the files.

On how many computers can I download it?

As many as you like: downloads are unlimited for you as the buyer. Nothing in the software counts installs, and it contacts the store only when you press Check for updates. What the license governs is deployment. The Single license covers one domain or subdomain. The Extended license covers as many as you own or operate. Reinstalls, staging copies and server moves are always fine.

Installation & setup

How do I install it?

Upload the contents of the app/ folder to your web host (for example public_html) and open your domain. The installer starts automatically: enter your database details and your admin login. Typical time: a few minutes. A QUICKSTART file with these exact steps is inside the ZIP.

What does my server need?

A standard PHP host: PHP 8.1 or newer with MySQL/MariaDB — ordinary shared hosting works. Most products can also run on SQLite for a zero-config local trial. Every product is tested on PHP 8.3.

Can I try it locally without a web host?

Yes: unzip, run "php -S localhost:8000 router.php" inside the app folder, open localhost:8000 in your browser.

The installer fails — what now?

Usually database credentials: re-check host, database name, user and password against your hosting panel. If the installer page itself will not load, confirm PHP 8.1+ on your host. Still stuck? See "Contact" and include the exact error text.

Do you install it for me?

The installer is a short form, designed for non-developers: try it first. Support covers questions when something does not behave as documented.

License & usage

What is the difference between the Single and Extended license?

The Single license covers one domain or subdomain: one business, running it on one site. The Extended license covers unlimited sites you own or operate. It suits agencies, and anyone running the app on more than one site. Every download carries the full terms as LICENSE.txt.

What does the license allow?

The Single license covers one domain or subdomain, with the full source. Modify it freely and use it commercially for your own business. The Extended license gives the same on unlimited domains you own or operate. It also covers one installation handed over per client project. Neither permits reselling the source. The authoritative text is LICENSE.txt inside your ZIP.

Does the license or key ever expire?

No. One-time purchase, permanent key, permanent access to your files.

Can I modify the source code?

Yes — you receive the full, unobfuscated source and may adapt it freely for your deployment. That is the point of owning it.

Can I use it for a client project?

Yes. Doing client work on your own installation is covered by the Single license. Handing a client an installation that becomes theirs needs the Extended license. It covers one handed-over installation per client project, with no limit on projects.

Can I resell or redistribute it?

No — the license covers deploying it, not redistributing the code itself. Reselling the ZIP or source is not permitted.

Refunds

What is the refund policy?

Refunds are handled by Lemon Squeezy as the Merchant of Record, under their standard digital-goods policy. Reply to your receipt email to start the process. Because full live demos exist for evaluation, please try the demo before buying.

I bought the wrong product

Contact us (see "Contact") with your order reference — genuine mix-ups are sorted pragmatically.

Legal, privacy & terms

Where are the terms of sale?

The Legal page covers terms of sale, the licensing summary, privacy and the refund route in one place. It is linked in the footer of every page.

What data do you collect about me?

The minimum a store needs: your order email (delivery, license, portal sign-in links) and your license keys. Payment data lives entirely with Lemon Squeezy — this site never sees your card. No analytics trackers, no ad pixels. Details: Legal page → Privacy.

GDPR — what are my rights?

Access, correction, deletion and the rest apply. Email us (see "Contact") for any data request; payment-side requests are honored via Lemon Squeezy as processor/MoR.

Is my payment information safe?

Your card details go directly to Lemon Squeezy's PCI-compliant checkout — they never touch this site's servers.

Who operates this store?

The operator identity and contact are on the Legal page (footer). The transactional seller on every invoice is Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record.

Suites

What is a suite?

A set of apps one business runs together, sold at one price. That price is less than buying the apps one by one. Each app still installs and runs on its own. One checkout delivers every app with its own download and license key. See ownware.io/suites.

I already own one of the apps. Do I pay for it again?

No. Bought an app in a suite within the last 12 months? What you paid is credited in full against the suite. Write to support with the order email of that app. You get a one-time code for the amount.

What is Ownware OS?

Every Ownware business app and the SaaS Kit console under one license, for one payment. Ownware OS + Own Your AI adds the local-AI app. Both are on the Suites page.

Ownware Cloud

Can you host it for me?

Yes. Ownware Cloud runs your own private copy of an app for a flat monthly price. Nightly backups and updates are done for you. Each product page shows its Cloud price where Cloud runs it. See cloud.ownware.io.

Is there a free trial on Cloud?

Yes, 14 days on every Cloud plan. Your card is taken at signup and first charged when the trial ends. Cancel from your account before then and nothing is charged. One free trial per email address.

Can I leave Cloud and take my data?

Yes. Your account has an Export everything button: the whole database, your files, the application source and a README. After twelve paid months the perpetual self-host license is yours to keep.

Your own AI

Does Ownware include an AI assistant?

No. The business apps have no built-in AI agent: you connect your own. The AI document tools, such as Extracta and Expensa, read your files with your own AI key. Own Your AI is our separate local-AI app, for an AI that runs on your own machine.

How do I connect my own AI to an app?

Every business app answers the Model Context Protocol at POST /mcp on your own server. It sits behind an API key you create in the app. Point Claude, ChatGPT, a local model or an n8n agent at it. The steps are at ownware.io/connect-your-ai.

If we disappear

What happens to my copy if Ownware stops?

It keeps running on your server, with the full source, and no license check can fail. If no stable release is published for 365 days, the domain limit lifts. After three such years, your copy becomes MIT-licensed. The exact wording is on the Legal page.

Affiliates

Do you have an affiliate program?

Yes — 35% of qualifying sales to new customers, with a 90-day cookie, run natively through Lemon Squeezy. One-time products pay once; an Ownware Cloud subscription pays on its first payment and on every renewal. See the Affiliates page: ownware.io/affiliates.

How and when do affiliates get paid?

Lemon Squeezy tracks your referrals and handles payouts under the program rules shown when you join.
