Three vendors, three units of account, one job: turn a bank or card statement into lines you can reconcile.
The unit is worth noticing, because it decides what a busy month costs you.
What the vendors publish
Docparser — read 2026-09-03, re-read 2026-09-26 and 2026-10-12. Starter $32.50/month billed yearly for 1,200 credits a year, or $39 a month billed monthly for 100 credits a month (100–500 pages), "equals $0.3900 per credit", with "Save 20% with Annual plans" and a 14-day trial. The 2026-09-03 read had filed the $39 as the annual rate; it is the month-to-month one. A page is a credit, so a heavy month moves you up a plan rather than simply costing a little more.
DocuClipper — read 2026-10-11 and again 2026-10-12. Starter **$20.30/month billed annually** for 60 pages a month; the page's own "Save $104.40/yr vs monthly" line derives monthly billing at $29. Users are unlimited and free — the meter is pages, not people.
MoneyThumb — read 2026-09-03 and again 2026-10-12. Online converters from $24.95 a month for five statement conversions. The shop also names lifetime desktop licenses (Pro and Pro+), but on 2026-10-12 it printed no price for them, so none is quoted here. The online meter is conversions per month.
The arithmetic, labeled as arithmetic
Published entry figure × 60 months, at the entry allowance each vendor names.
| monthly | allowance | five years | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Docparser Starter, billed yearly | $32.50 | 100 credits | $1,950 |
| MoneyThumb online | $24.95 | 5 conversions | $1,497 |
| DocuClipper Starter, billed annually | $20.30 | 60 pages | $1,218 |
| Ledgira | — | your own model key | $59, once |
Read the allowance column beside the price column. Five conversions a month is one statement a week.
What Ledgira does
It reads the statement with your own AI key and reconciles the extracted lines against the statement's own closing balance — which is what makes it reconciliation rather than a tidy list. You know when it is right, because the document carries a figure to agree with.
It has a third answer besides reconciled and discrepancy: "Reconciliation incomplete", meaning it does not have both balances and will not pretend to have checked.
Who should stay where they are
Stay with Docparser if you want hosted parsing rules, their template library, and support when a bank changes a layout. **Stay where you are if you need a live bank feed or an Open Banking connection** — Ledgira parses statement files you already have and connects to no bank.
And the plainest limit: it is not accounting software and not a ledger of record. If you need a live ledger with financial, tax or legal advice built into it, this is not that, and no price makes it that.
