Product information management is a real category with real problems, and its prices reflect a buyer who has already decided the problem is expensive.
Before that decision there is a smaller, duller job: turning a pile of supplier spec sheets into fields somebody can check. That is the step this guide is about.
What the vendors publish
Jasper PIM — read 2026-09-03 and again 2026-10-12. Growth "USD $999 / mo"; Professional "USD $1,999 / mo" for teams needing automation and workflows. Flat plan tiers rather than per seat or per SKU — and the step from Growth to Professional doubles the bill.
Plytix — read 2026-10-11 and again 2026-10-12. Pro from $149/mo at 100 SKUs, rising with the SKU count to $499 at 25,000; Standard is $0/mo at 100 SKUs and $49 at 500. Every plan is priced by SKU count, with 500 AI credits a month included and optional paid add-ons; the page names no billing period.
Salsify — read 2026-09-03: **no public price, quote-gated, verified.** On 2026-10-12 its old pricing address redirects to the home page, which prints no price either. A personalized demo is the route to a number.

What Specta is — and it is not a PIM
It batch-processes up to twenty spec sheets through an AI queue using your own key, scores each extracted field for confidence, and asks you to review only the fields it is unsure about. The output is a checked set of fields; what you do with them afterward is your business.
Confidence-scoring is the whole ergonomic idea: reviewing twenty documents in full is a day, and reviewing the fourteen fields the machine flagged is ten minutes.
Who should stay where they are
Stay with Jasper PIM if you syndicate a catalog to marketplaces and need workflow and governance around it. Stay with Salsify if you need live syndication of product data directly to sales channels — Specta exports CSV and JSON import files only and syndicates to nothing.
Stay with Plytix if you need channel-ready product feeds and connections to your sales channels: Specta is the step before a PIM — supplier PDFs into import-ready rows — with teammates as viewer, member or admin on one installation.
