Onboarding is a ninety-day job. The software that runs it is usually priced per employee per month, for as long as that employee works for you — which is to say, priced for the other nine hundred days as well.
What the vendors publish
Eddy — read 2026-09-03 and again 2026-10-12. Starter is **$4 per person a month on top of a $50 monthly base**; Growth is $8 per person on a $75 base; payroll adds $6 a person on a second $50 base; hiring is a separate $199 a month. The base fee is due whether or not you onboard a soul this month.
BambooHR — read 2026-08-22, re-read 2026-09-26, 2026-10-11 and 2026-10-12. Core $10 per employee/month on the plan cards, Pro $17, Elite $25, for companies with more than 25 employees (the page's FAQ on 2026-10-12 says Core "starts at $10.25" and Pro $17.50). For 25 or fewer the page prints a flat rate again on 2026-10-11 ("$250 USD/mo for Core", $425 for Pro, $650 for Elite), after a 2026-09-26 read that found no price below twenty-six people. Every person you onboard past twenty-five is also every person you keep paying for.
Enboarder — read 2026-08-22 and again 2026-10-12: **no public price, quote-gated, verified.** What you pay is decided in a call, which means the comparison a buyer wants cannot be made before the call.

What Onboardora is
The checklist, with owners and dates that derive themselves. A starter's plan is a snapshot taken when they are added, so editing the template changes what the next person gets and can never rewrite a plan somebody is working to today.
Due dates are computed from an offset rather than stored, so moving a start date moves the whole plan with it — no migration, and nothing left pointing at the old Monday. "Late" is derived the same way, so the dashboard is right without a nightly job.
And a small honesty that says a lot: a task landing on a Saturday is shown landing on a Saturday. The manager can see it and move it, which is better than the product moving it silently.
Who should stay where they are
Stay with Eddy if you want hiring, HR records and payroll in one hosted account. **Stay with BambooHR if you want an HR system of record. Stay with Enboarder** if you want onboarding as an experience program — nudges, journeys, manager coaching.
Onboardora is the first ninety days and says so. It holds no employment record afterward, and it is not trying to become one.
