Own It 4.0 is the release where every app looks after itself: it updates from inside, backs itself up, starts with a sample business you remove in one click, and says on one page whether all of that is working. Four apps also switch you over from the tool you rent today, and one line installs any of them.
As always: nothing taken away, nothing moved behind a paywall, no subscription. If you own a tool, the 4.0 files are the same one-time purchase you already made.
Updates from inside every app
Each app has an Updates page in its menu. Paste your license key once, press Check for updates, and the app asks the store for the newest release your license covers. Before anything is installed it checks Ownware's signature on the release, takes a backup, and puts the new version in place. If the new version does not start, it rolls itself back to the one you had.
The app never checks by itself and never updates by itself: nothing happens until you press the button. Either key works: the one on your order page, or the one in your Lemon Squeezy receipt.
Start with a sample business
A new install can start with a sample business already in it, so you can try the app on realistic records before typing your own. When you are ready, one click removes the sample, and only the sample: your own records stay, and a sample record one of yours uses (a sample customer on your first job, say) is kept and named in the report.
Backups by themselves, and a Health page
Backups now run on a schedule without you. You can add a copy to S3-compatible storage you own, and once a week the app reads the latest backup back to check it is usable, because a backup nobody has restored is only a hope.
The Health page puts it all on one screen: the PHP version and extensions, disk space, whether the data folder is writable, email, how old the last backup is, the offsite copy, the weekly check, whether an update is waiting, and any file that differs from the version you installed. Each line says what to do when it is not fine. The page only reads; it never changes anything.
Switch from the tool you rent
Four apps now bring your records across from the tool they replace. Upload the export file, read the switch report (every row checked with the app's own rules), then press Import. Importing the same file a second time adds nothing.
- Jobora takes Jobber's client export.
- Rostera takes Deputy's team member export and its schedule export.
- Vendra takes Square's item library and its customer directory.
- Slotly takes Calendly's events export: the people who booked come across as customers.
Each map was read from the tool's real export file, not from its documentation.
One line to install
For technical owners, one command downloads an app with your license key and installs it, checking the download the same way the Updates page does:
curl -fsSL https://ownware.io/install.sh | sh -s -- jobora <your license key>
Every product page shows the line with its own name. The order page and the receipt now also say where the key goes.
Own Your AI 3.0.2
Own Your AI 3.0.2 tightens its git tool. A command that began with an option, such as -C . push, could slip past the approval, read-only and airplane checks, and some writes (a new alias, deleting a branch) counted as reads. Now only a short list of known reads runs without asking; every other git command asks first, and read-only mode refuses it. Its test suite now passes from the download itself.

SaaS Kit 3.5.0
The SaaS Kit console gets the same Updates page, signed and backed up first, and a restore now brings back rows that point at other rows. Where the console is hosted for you, the page says why updates are off there.
US English
Every screen, document and page now uses US spelling: license, catalog, organization, color.
Upgrading
To reach 4.0, download it from your order page and replace the files as before: config.php, uploads and data are untouched, and the database migrates itself on the next load. **From 4.0 on, the Updates page does this for you.** Store buyers: your download already serves the 4.0 files.
