Consignment software pricing: what the two vendors that publish a price actually charge

ConsignCloud and SimpleConsign's published tiers, each with the date it was read; the per-location meter that changes the sum for a second shop; why an introductory rate is not a price; and the one-time licence beside them, including who should stay where they are.

Consignment and resale-shop software pricing is harder to find than it should be. Two vendors in the category publish a price list a buyer can read without asking anyone: ConsignCloud and SimpleConsign. This page puts those two side by side, on the dates they were read, next to the one-time licence you can buy instead. Where a tier is quoted rather than published, this page says so and leaves the figure blank rather than guessing it.

ConsignCloud's cheapest published tier is Basic at $139 a month. SimpleConsign's cheapest published tier is Basic at $159 a month, billed monthly. Both climb from there on their own published ladders, and ConsignCloud's next step up is not a flat monthly figure at all -- it is priced per store location, which changes the comparison for anyone running more than one shop. Set against either subscription, Consigna is a one-time purchase: $84.00 for a single licence, $169.00 for the extended licence, with penny-exact payouts and no monthly bill afterwards, because it is self-hosted software that runs on a server you already control.

What the two vendors publish

Both price lists below were read on 2026-09-03.

ConsignCloud's own page states the Basic figure as "$139 /month", verbatim, on that same 2026-09-03 reading. Both vendors keep an Enterprise tier off the public list entirely: it is quoted rather than published, which is a different thing from a price, and it is left blank here rather than guessed.

The meter is the story

The number that matters most is not the Basic tier. It is what ConsignCloud's Pro plan actually meters. ConsignCloud's own page, read on 2026-08-11 -- a different date from the $139 figure above, because a page read on two dates is two facts, not one -- puts it this way: "Up to 3 Locations ($189 per location)". Pro is not a flat $189 a month. It is $189 a month for every location you run, up to three, and past three locations the plan is no longer Pro at all; it becomes Enterprise, priced by quote.

Do the arithmetic, labelled as arithmetic: three locations on Pro at $189 each is $567 a month. Multiplied by twelve, that is $6,804 over a year, and that figure assumes the price per location never changes and the store never adds a fourth location, which would move it into the custom Enterprise tier and off the published price list entirely. A single-location shop pays $189 a month on Pro; a three-location chain pays three times that, before Enterprise is even on the table. Basic, by contrast, carries no per-location note on the pages read here, which is why it is the tier worth comparing for a single shop and the wrong tier to compare for a chain.

SimpleConsign's intro rates are not its price

SimpleConsign advertises lower numbers than the ones in the table above, and it would be dishonest to leave them out or to quote them as the price. Two of its tiers carry an introductory rate: Professional at $99 a month for the first six months, and Vendor Mall Plus at $199 a month for the same introductory period. Both intro rates end when the six months run out or when the store reaches $50,000 in tracked sales, whichever comes first -- the store's own comparison record quotes the cutoff as running "once a store reaches $50,000 in tracked sales". After that, the account moves to the regular price: $359 a month for Professional, $379 a month for Vendor Mall Plus. Those regular prices, not the introductory ones, are the figures quoted in the table above, because an introductory rate that expires on a sales threshold is not a price. It is a discount with a deadline attached to your revenue.

The one-time side

Consigna is self-hosted consignment shop software with penny-exact payouts, sold once rather than metered by month or by location: $84.00 for a single licence, $169.00 for the extended licence. There is no per-location surcharge to track, because the software runs on one server you control and a location is not a line item in its price.

Consigna is also one half of the Property Suite, paired with a rental operations tool, at $149.00 for the two together -- a saving of $54.00 against buying each on its own. That pairing is worth taking only if you also run rental property alongside the consignment counter. If the resale shop is the whole business, the saving does not apply to you, and the single Consigna licence at $84.00 is the number to compare against the monthly figures above. Either way, the total is fixed once, at the checkout, and does not change with how many locations the shop later grows to, which is the opposite of how ConsignCloud's Pro tier behaves.

Where you should stay where you are

Consigna is not a replacement for everything ConsignCloud does, and the honest place to say so is here rather than after a purchase.

If you need a consignor self-service portal -- somewhere a consignor logs in to see their own running balance without asking staff -- stay with ConsignCloud. Consigna does not do that. Statements are printed and emailed manually instead, which is a real difference in daily workload for a shop with an active consignor list, not a minor one.

There is a support difference too, worth stating in ConsignCloud's own words from its own page: "Support via live chat from 8AM-5PM PT weekdays. Support is staffed by real people who are knowledgable in the software." That live-chat window during weekday business hours is part of what the $139 or $189 a month buys. A one-time licence does not include a staffed chat line; a shop that leans on that kind of hand-holding should weigh it against the monthly figures above before switching to owned software.

Before you decide

Every figure on this page carries the date it was read because prices in this category move, and a table without a date is just a claim. Check ConsignCloud's and SimpleConsign's own pricing pages directly before making a decision, and weigh the per-location meter and the consignor-portal gap against what a one-time Consigna licence is missing for your shop specifically. This page is not legal or tax advice; it is a record of published numbers on the dates shown.
