How their pricing grows. Square's Plus plan costs $49 per month per business location, so pricing scales up as a business opens more locations.

Who should stay with Square POS. If you need built-in online card payment processing or plan to run multiple store locations under one HQ, stay with Square — Vendra only records cash/card tender (it doesn't process cards online) and runs one shop per installation, with no multi-store head office.
How we counted. Per location. Figures verified on Square's own press page announcing the Free/Plus/Premium plans (the pricing page renders prices via JS). Honest note: Square's free tier charges per card transaction - and Vendra records card tenders, it does not process cards. If you need software that takes the payment itself, Square is your tool; if you have a card terminal and want the till, stock ledger and data to be yours, that is Vendra.

How their pricing grows. Lightspeed's published plans are for a single retail location; running more than one location pushes a business into a custom, contact-sales plan.

Who should stay with Lightspeed Retail. If you run multiple store locations and want a central view, or need integrated online card payments and eCommerce built into the POS, stay with Lightspeed — Vendra runs one shop per installation, doesn't process cards online, and has no e-commerce or website sync.
How we counted. Per location with 1 register included; extra registers and locations cost more. Stored at Basic billed annually ($89). Re-read 2026-09-26 with the page's own switch in both positions: $89, $149 and $289 are the ANNUAL-billing prices the page opens on, not month-to-month as this row said on 2026-09-03; month to month they are $109, $179 and $339. Lightspeed sells this product as Retail POS X-Series.

How their pricing grows. Erply meters by STORE and then by TERMINAL and USER: the entry plan covers one of each, and chains are quoted from $1,800 and $3,500.

Who should stay with Erply. Stay with Erply if you run a chain, need NetSuite or a franchise HQ module, or want hosted multi-warehouse inventory. Vendra is a single-shop POS with inventory on your own server.
How we counted. The month-to-month entry plan per store, which includes exactly one user and one terminal — a second till or a second cashier moves the price. Vendra is one payment per site with no per-terminal meter.

Who should stay with Hike POS. Stay with Hike if you run more than one outlet and want hosted stock sync between them with in-person card processing from the same vendor. Vendra is one shop, one server, no card processing.
How we counted. The billed-monthly Essential price for a single outlet; the annual rate sits beside it on the page and is quoted so it is not mistaken for the monthly one. A second outlet requires the Plus tier. Vendra is one payment for the shop.

How their pricing grows. KORONA meters by TERMINAL: the price is per till per month, and modules stack per register on top.

Who should stay with KORONA POS. Stay with KORONA if you run several tills, a franchise, or a ticketed venue and want a hosted vendor with those modules. Vendra is a one-till-or-many POS on your own server with no module bill.
How we counted. The entry tier per terminal per month; every extra till is another $59, and the food and invoicing modules add $10 per register each. Vendra has no per-terminal meter: one payment covers every till in the shop.

Your data sits on a server you choose; customer records are not held in a vendor's cloud unless you put them there.
Records, users and usage are limited by your hosting, not by a pricing tier.
It keeps working if the vendor doesn't: no one can switch your copy off, and keeping it up to date is in your hands.
