What Inventory Planner (by Sage) does that we don't

Inventory Planner offers built-in, plug-and-play integrations with sales channels, inventory management systems, and ERPs.

Who should stay with Inventory Planner (by Sage)

If you need direct integrations with your POS, sales channels, or ERP rather than CSV import/export, stay where you are — sales arrive by CSV, the REST API or an AI agent over MCP, and purchase orders leave as CSV or PDF; there is no ready-made connector to a shop platform.

What Restock deliberately doesn't do is on its product page.

Why owning beats renting Inventory Planner (by Sage).

One payment

No monthly, per-seat or per-location fees. The license is perpetual.

Your data stays on your server

It never lives in Inventory Planner (by Sage)'s cloud.

No plan ceilings

Records and users are limited by your hosting, not by a pricing tier.

It keeps working if the vendor doesn't

Self-hosted software can't be sunset or repriced out from under you.

The fair trade-offs: you host it, back it up and apply updates yourself. See the product page for its limits, and the full Restock vs renting comparison.

Questions about moving off Inventory Planner (by Sage).

Is the forecasting math a black box?
No. Reorder point equals average daily demand times lead time plus safety stock — the four formulas are printed in the app and the README, and covered by the test suite that ships in the zip, which you can check with a calculator.
How do I get my sales data in?
Export orders from your POS or cart as CSV with date, SKU, and quantity columns — names and order don't matter, Restock maps by header. Bad rows are skipped and reported line-by-line, never silently. Rows are totaled per SKU per date, and a date already imported for a SKU is replaced, not added to. Importing sales changes stock only if you switch on Stock follows sales; otherwise stock changes when you import the product file, correct a count or receive a purchase order. A till such as Vendra can send stock levels itself.
Does it handle new products with no sales history?
Yes — they're handled gracefully. No divide-by-zero, days-of-stock shows as unlimited, and you can set a manual safety-stock floor in units until history accumulates.
Will this run on shared hosting?
Yes. Restock requires PHP 8.1+ with PDO — present on virtually all cPanel/Plesk hosts. Install takes about two minutes through the web installer.
