The self-hosted Vagaro alternative

Slotly: Self-hosted appointment booking that refuses a second booking for a slot already taken, even when two people try at the same moment. Own it once, run it on your own server, and stop paying Vagaro every month.

Stop renting Vagaro.

Vagaro £20/month for one location with 1 bookable calendar, then £10 more per calendar up to £80 for 7 or more (UK page; each beside a struck-through figure £10 higher). Multiple Locations shows no price ('Contact Multi-location Team'). One monthly price, cancel anytime Slotly is $99 once, runs on your own server, and never invoices you again.

How Vagaro pricing grows

Vagaro meters by bookable calendar per month at a single location - £10 for each calendar after the first - and prices multi-location businesses only through its sales team.

What Vagaro does that we don't

Vagaro is a consumer marketplace with integrated payments and a free card reader for its merchant service.

Who should stay with Vagaro

Stay with Vagaro if marketplace listing and integrated card processing are worth a monthly fee per bookable calendar — for a salon that wants new walk-ins, that can be a fair trade. Slotly is booking on your own website; it brings no clients and takes no cut.

What Slotly deliberately doesn't do is on its product page.

Why owning beats renting Vagaro.

One payment

No monthly, per-seat or per-location fees. The license is perpetual.

Your data stays on your server

It never lives in Vagaro's cloud.

No plan ceilings

Records and users are limited by your hosting, not by a pricing tier.

It keeps working if the vendor doesn't

Self-hosted software can't be sunset or repriced out from under you.

The fair trade-offs: you host it, back it up and apply updates yourself. See the product page for its limits, and the full Slotly vs renting comparison.

Questions about moving off Vagaro.

Does it take payment online?
Yes, if you switch on card payments with your own Stripe account: a service can take its deposit, or the full price, by card while the customer books, on Stripe's own page, and the money goes from Stripe to your bank. Slotly never sees the card and takes no cut. Without card payments, deposits are quoted and tracked in admin, and your own payment link (Stripe, PayPal or any page) is shown beside the amount due.
What do automatic reminders need?
One cron line enables them. Email goes through SMTP or PHP mail(), and texts, for customers who ask, through your own SMS gateway.
Can I run group classes?
Yes — set a capacity and multiple people can book the same slot.
MySQL or SQLite?
Either — MySQL for shared hosting, SQLite for a local trial.
Better together
